8 Weight Loss Rules

May 29, 2012

Recently I put my employees on a strict fitness plan. So far, in just two months, they lost anywhere between 10-20 pounds and many inches off their waist. I’m so proud of them! Here are my 8 rules I gave them – which I think YOU should also try, if you are planning on fitness program: 1)      Write down everything you eat 2)      Workout 3-4 times a week (or more) 3)      Drink ONLY water 4)      Stop eating pass 7pm 5)     …

The Gift of Belief

May 29, 2012

May 28, 2012 Two months ago, a couple of my employees called in sick for health related reasons.  That week, I held a mandatory meeting to introduce a program in which they were to follow 8 simple rules for the next 12 weeks. Every week I weighed them, discussed their diet, introduced a new exercise and provide motivation for the next week. In a short period of time I watched as they lost inches off their waist and pounds off…

Un-feeding a Habit.

May 22, 2012

May 21, 2012 For the past couple months I’ve been getting regular manicures at a nail salon. In the past, I usually manicured my own nails every week at home. However, ever since I tried the gel polish before going to Vegas, I became hooked! The polish never fades or chips. It promotes nail growth as it creates a hard shell around your natural nail size and protects it from damage. For someone who is very active with cleaning, working…

Mommy Fitness: Frustration

May 18, 2012

Last week I worked out 6 days a week at 7am in the morning. This week is MUCH different. I have been so busy – especially in the night with a teething baby – that it’s so tough to obviously make it to the gym in the morning. When I start my day and the kids are already awake, then I have to cook breakfast, start cleaning up and answering emails. When 10am rolls around, I am not in the…

Life Before Kids.

May 17, 2012

May 16, 2012 My office is a mess. My bookshelves have been tampered. There are puzzle pieces everywhere. I have the baby’s jumper and swing crowding my desk. And I’m surrounded by paperwork, half-eaten food and   an empty protein shake carton. I feel disorganized. After all, I always felt that my external world reflected my internal world. The more controlled my environment is, the more controlled I am feeling. Since becoming a mom, all that logic has been thrown to…

My BUTT workout.

May 11, 2012

I used to have a nice butt. But ever since having kids, I feel like it’s become weaker – along with my lower back and core regions. So, for the last couple years (that I haven’t been pregnant of course) I’ve been focusing on my backside. Sometimes I will perform walking lunges for 45 minutes straight without stopping. Sometimes I will run bleachers. Often I perform the workout below. This workout really targets my backside. I usually perform my butt…

Mommy Fitness: Consistency

May 11, 2012

I have trained every morning this week. Believe me, it was tough. This morning, I absolutely didn’t want to. Especially when I checked the scale and it had NOT moved! I try (as usual) not to get swayed by the scale. I know what I sow today, I will reap tomorrow. If I am disappointed with results I ask myself: Has my diet been up to par? Have I been training intensely? Have I become to comfortable in my workouts?…

My hero.

May 7, 2012

May 7, 2012 I knew I would marry a hero. I’ve always been drawn to inspirational men. Men who have a story. Men who have a passion… Men who want to make a difference. It’s Monday afternoon and my sweaty husband just came home from painting one of my parent’s care homes. Not because he was told – but because he volunteered. He does that often. He volunteers to take pictures for a family event, to barbeque at someone’s party…

Mommy Fitness: On track.

May 4, 2012

My goal is to wake up early morning and train. However, that hasn’t happened. Here’s why: 1) I sleep late. I sleep late because the boys go to bed at 8:30pm. That means I finally have time to myself – of course, that’s after I’m done cleaning, doing the dishes and laundry. “Me” time also comes after working, sending emails and paying bills. When I finally get to ‘me’ time I read a book, write in my diary, browse Facebook…

Men are from Mars…

May 2, 2012

May 1, 2012 On Saturday we attended a lecture of one of my favorite relationship authors, John Gray. He wrote the series of books, “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.” When I first read that book, I was sixteen years old and experiencing a break up with a person I dated for only two months.  Reading about the differences between men and women were a revelation to me.  At the time, I thought I was undergoing the rubber…
