Mommy Fitness Blog: a story about motivation

So I’ve been training EVERY day this week including Sunday. Have a lost 2 pounds?

NO.

What are my thoughts?

– I think I could’ve eaten a better last meal of the day

– I am at a ‘set-point’ weight right now and it’s really hard to get away from it

– I’m plateauing with my cardio workouts

– My body is adjusting to my increased intake from 1400 to 1800 calories a day (for my breast feeding)

So this morning I decided to do something different! Usually I train at 6am at the gym – but since I haven’t had an ‘off’ this week as I also trained on Sunday (which is unlike me) I decided to run on the treadmill at home.

Since I was VERY unmotivated, I told myself: “just twenty minutes”…

BUT after I stepped on, after 30 seconds tons of thoughts were going through my head:

“I’m sore.”

“I worked out for the last 5 days with no rest.”

“I had 3 training sessions yesterday” (I trained in the morning, had my mom-me club then dance class at night)

and so…I got off the treadmill.

AND THEN…I got back on!

I realized that if I DON’T WORK OUT I WILL FEEL LIKE CRAP.

Not only that, but this is the FIRST WEEK IN A LONG TIME WHEN I’VE CONSISTENTLY TRAINED AT 6AM 5 DAYS IN A ROW! WOOOOHOO!

and so I did it. My soreness went away. My motivation went up. And I ran EVEN without music!

This is a story of a person who is just like all of you: UNMOTIVATED TO TRAIN sometimes 🙂

SO Train today…even if it’s just for twenty minutes!

    saw your ad interested me i have done soo many different kind of workouts i love to walk i get bored at gym loved doing crossfit but saw all my friends bulking up and not looking very femenine.
    i am 56 yrs old 5ft 10 and weigh 178 id like to be at 160 , n fit ! i eat well and just need a little pushing ! any suggestions of what i can do 20 min a day????
