Mommy Fitness Blog: 5am workouts.

October 12, 2009

YEP – you read that right! I work out a 5am now! I wake up at 5am – am at the gym by 5:30am and then at my fitness program for a local middle school by 7am. I like it this way though….at least I get the biggest goal out of the way and am able to get my workout and work done very early.

So! Each day I perform cardio and some type of low resistance weight training with lots of reps. So – I’ve been averaging 4-5 workouts per week. Pretty good – definitely better than the week before. However, my eating could be a bit better…but that’s about all…

In general, I’ve been incredibly busy – I’m actually asleep by 9:30-10:00pm each day. I don’t take naps and throughout the day I just go! go! go! It’s both good and bad. It’s better to have something to do than nothing to do…I also guess it’s a good sign that things are going well with my business’.

I haven’t gained any weight…STILL. Some days I have an extra pound, but usually I splurged the day before and am carrying more water or something. I still haven’t switched to maternity clothes (I am 14 weeks preggers) but I definitely feel my waistband to my jeans getting tighter. I HATE having a muffin top. One of the things I’ve always prided myself on was my long, lean abs…so it is definitely annoying to have ‘something extra’ peaking outside of my jean’s waistband, but I’ll let that go since I am PREGNANT!!!!

This week there are a couple days I don’t have to make it the school early so I will try to get the motivation to get up and get to the gym. Often, if I don’t have to be somewhere, then I won’t go the gym since it’s a bit of a drive (around 7 miles) but long enough for me to not want to go without a reason to be out!! One of the things that have often been a nagging problem for me while pregnant is the lack of motivation I have. I either need to take a class, go with a friend or go very early in the morning. So right now I’m doing the morning thing. I do have to admit that it would be nice to have a belly bump since it would make more sense when people see my belly getting fatter.

ANYWAYS.

My goals this week or simple:

1) Workout 4-5 times

2) Drink water

3) Eat 1800-2000 calories per day

4) Eat more fruit (instead of candy)

5) Pray more.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
