Katee Roberts! Check out that six pack!

Great Transformation! I'm all about fit marriages. How blessed!

Check out this fit mom of 4, Katee Roberts!!! She is 5-foot-3, 121 pounds and gained 30-50lbs with each pregnancy. Her kids are ages 2,3,5 and 7!

1. How many kids do you have? Ages? How heavy were they at birth and how much weight did you gain during pregnancy?

I have four kids ages 2, 3, 5, and 7. They were each between 6lbs 9oz and 6lbs 13oz at birth. With each pregnancy, I gained between 30-50lbs.

2. C-Section or Natural? How long did it take you to recover? When did you start training?

I had four vaginal births which I recovered fairly quickly from. I was back to my normal activities in a couple of weeks. It wasn’t my last baby was 11 months that I started to exercise regularly.

3. Did you nurse? How long?

I did nurse all four of mine for about 6 months each.

4. What does your daily routine look like?

I work part time as a nurse. On the days that I don’t work, I get my two girls up and ready for school. I am then left with my two boys ages 2 and 3. After getting breakfasts done and some light house cleaning, I try to get my workout in lasting between 40-55 minutes. My boys will either try to join in or play together until I am finished. The rest of my days goes to playing with the boys, fixing lunches, homework with the girls after school, dinner, baths, family time, then bedtime. On my work days, I leave before the kids are awake, get home at dinner time, try to fit in a workout, and resume our normal nightly routine. This is a very condensed version!

5. What is your weekly workout?

Because my husband and I juggle our work schedules so that our kids are able to always be home with one of us, we don’t have the time or childcare resources available to workout outside of our house. I have found that because of this reason, Beachbody products have worked so well for me! We started with Insanity in May 2011 and have gone on to have success with other programs. I workout 6 days a week and enjoy 1 rest day.

6. What is your weekly diet?

I eat 5 to 6 meals per day. I try to eat 50% protein, 30% carbs, and 20% good fats. I start each day with plenty of protein and a good carb. I taper my carbs throughout the day. I end the day with a meal of protein and good fat. I have adopted a diet of eating whole, clean foods.

7. What is your philosophy on training?

I have found the best results come from HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). It is efficient, challenging, and helps to burn fat while preserving muscle. I also love weight training for added muscle and the advantage of continuous fat burning!

8. What question are you asked the most? What is your answer?

“What do you eat?” This is what I am asked the most. My response is always simple. I eat lean meats, good carbs, and good fats. I follow the eat clean diet and stick with eating lots of chicken, fish, ground turkey, 100% whole wheats, fruits, veggies, nuts, etc.

9. What is most challenging being a fit mother? How do you overcome it?

My biggest challenge has been finding the time, which is always the excuse I used in the past for NOT exercising. When I started this journey, I made it a must to workout every night after my kids went to sleep. Gradually, I started to introduce my workouts when the kids were awake. This soon became a habit and part of my daily routine, like brushing my teeth, doing laundry, or cleaning my house. My kids soon became accustomed to seeing mommy workout and that made it a little easier!

10. What is your occupation?

I am a Registered Nurse in an outpatient surgery department.

11. What is your advice for moms first starting out?

Don’t let your kids become an excuse NOT to exercise, let having kids make it a priority to DO it. Becoming a healthier you makes you a better mom!

12. What is your favorite clean recipe?

I honestly don’t really use recipes. I have found the grill to be my best friend! I grill meats and even veggies about 75% of the time. I have also found that keeping meals simple and with less ingredients works best for me!

13. What is ‘your secret weapon’ for those who want to be in shape?

Sweat, support, and a healthy diet!

14. Personal thank you’s

I have to thank my husband. Without his support and drive to become a healthier dad, I may not have found my drive. Also, a big thanks to Beachbody. This company has produced many programs and products that have made my journey possible!
