Reviews: The EQ Yoga Mat

October 16, 2012

There are certain companies I absolutely LOVE when it comes to fitness. I love working out in Nike shoes. I love wearing Lululemon capris. I love training with Free Motion machines and NOW I love using my EQ Yoga mat when performing yoga, pilates or stretching.

My EQ Yoga mat is made from a newly developed material called TPE (Thermal Plastic Elastomer) foam. It FEELS different than my other mats (and I have many from all my programs). The mat is entirely recyclable and does not contain any latex, PVC or rubber and there are NO toxic materials used in production.

What intrigued me most about the mat are the chakras brightly printed against its anti-slip black material. For those who are not familiar with chakras, chakras are like little wheels of energy centers within your body. While we have hundreds of ‘wheel energies’ in our body, it is said that we have seven main ones. According to Chakraenergy.com, “It is believed that we have seven main chakra centers and that each main center is connected to our being on several different levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. On the physical level each chakra governs a main organ or gland, which is then connected to other body parts that resonate the same frequency.”

Using my EQ Yoga mat reminds me to find balance between my chakras. We all have a part of our body that gives us the most grief. I took a chakra test just now and saw that ALL my chakras were open, but there were a few that were over-active! My navel, throat and crown were specifically over-active meaning that I can be very assertive and domineering in a group, I possibly speak too much and don’t listen very well and I intellectualize and spiritualize things too much. Sounds pretty accurate, unfortunately.

Take your Chakra test here.

For those who would love to be reminded to balance and harmonize their chakras while sitting on a comfortable and innovative yoga mat, check out EQ’s company website (I love their company’s philosophy) HERE.

The EQ Yoga Mat. It comes with a bag, which also holds your water bottle.

Hi! Is the chakra EQ yoga mat still available for purchase? I’m having a hard time finding it online.
