I woke up at 4am today. When my son Nicholas woke up at 3:58pm (as he usually does) I couldn’t go back to sleep. And so I read for a while, then I did some browsing on the internet…then at 5:30am I got up to workout. It is Thursday and this is only second workout this week! I’ve been training an average of 3-4 times a week since the wedding. I’ve been so busy that it’s been hard to get to the gym…and, since the wedding is over, like everyone else…I give myself a little bit of a break. (at least for a little bit)
This morning I performed a back and chest workout. It was great to see all the morning folks as that is my favorite time to train. Not only do I get my priority out of the way and see good people at the gym, but I know the boys are sleeping which makes my ‘guilty’ thoughts subside. For my back and chest workout I performed assisted pullups and double set them with push ups. Then I performed lat pull downs with barbell bent over rows and pushups on the barbell. Then I performed chest cable flies and double set it with chest cable presses then plie squats. Then I performed back cable rows with crunches. Lastly I performed back extension. I like to double sometimes triple a lot of my workouts. Not only is it efficient, but it gets my heart rate going, my focus up and my body guessing.
Right after the gym I went to Walmart hoping to find gingerbread house kits for my “Gingerbread House making party” on Saturday….there were none. But I was able to get other shopping done, like regular toothpaste and shampoo/conditioner stuff. I also bought some stuff for my stepkids, which I will be sending out packages later today.
Tonight I will be attending the “Governor’s wrap party”. I am very excited as I will be attending it with a former colleague at 24 hour fitness corporate (we never actually worked together, he was much higher up in the legal dept.) Now he is one of my board of directors for FWB and a legal guy at Planet Fitness. I enjoy mingling, networking, dressing up and attending nice events so this will be nice.
Tomorrow I have a graduation/birthday party for my bridesmaid Stephanie, then on Saturday is my Gingerbread house party, then on Tuesday is my employee party, then on Wednesday is my niece’s birthday party…so if you can only imagine. I AM VERY TIRED. But, I am trying to keep my head above water by getting lists of things done every day. In fact, one of the first things I do (after training, feeding the kids and eating) is make my “to do” list for the day. I heard that naming 6 things to do is a good rule of thumb.
SO – I am soooo happy I got my workout in today. My plan is to train tomorrow and Sat making it a total of 4 days this week. I haven’t gained any weight (despite my poor diet) since the wedding. I’m tipping the scale at 124 right now. I look pretty lean but my goal is to start REALLY leaning out so I can see more abdominal muscles. I would like to take new pictures by the beginning of the year.
