Mommy Fitness Blog: busy, tired, busy, tired, busy, sleepy..tired!

September 9, 2009

Workouts have been REALLY tough for me. I go to the gym once a week to train on ellipticals and perform a little bit of strength training. The other days of the week I am jog/walking with other moms or training at a smaller (more intimate) home gym with my girlfriend. I do get in at least 3-4 days a week of workouts – but as of today (Wednesday)  I have not done ANYTHING.

I am so tired…and BUSY. I can’t figure out when I have the opportunity to work out when if I’m not running an errand or tending to my son, I want to lay and relax or catch up on emails and phone calls.

I want to try waking up super early again…like around 6am to workout, but its really, really tough. I need around eight hours of sleep every night. I try to get to bed at around 11 or 12pm and end up waking up around 7 or 8. So unless I can start going to be at 10am, I don’t know know how I will acheive that goal.

As of today though, I have not gained a single ounce. Sometimes I fluctuate lower, but I’m always happy to find my weight stable after a weekend of eating hotdogs and no workouts.

Seriously.

This past weekend was definitely a holiday weekend. I had a BBQ with my mom-me club, then I had dinner with my mom on Sunday (since she just came back from a cruise) and we had a large family BBQ on Monday for Labor Day. There were hotdogs, ribs, potato salad, spaghetti and three desserts! I made Apple Crisp…and it was delicious! Of course I only had a bite as I know how much butter went into it! I am a very picky eater so I stuck with spaghetti and a bit of potato salad, but my body definitely felt like I didn’t eat chicken breast and broccoli the next day!

Anyways, today I am busy all day then I have dinner tonight so I don’t know when I can fit a workout in. I already missed the opportunity to run outside this morning after Christian had a huge surprise in his diaper and I had to take him an emergency bath!  In the next hour my day is going to take off!

The good thing is that I have a treadmill, I have like ten fitness DVD’s and a jogging stroller. I plan on training every day this week until Sunday…and I know when I say I’ll do something, I usually do it. I also don’t feel that bad being less active as I’m so fatigued and it’s good not to stress your body out during your first trimester.

This week is going super fast. I’m so excited because I get to travel soon.!!!

Goals this week:

1. workout 4 times

2. weight train 3 times

3. drink a lot of water

4. eat around 1600-1800 calories/day

about to go swimming with my favorite little man

I just started following you. You are such an inspiration. I am 5’0 and have gained soo much weight. I lost a lot of weight after having my son. I was weighing 125lbs and now weigh 150lbs. I can’t seem to plan my day to work out. I feel so tired by the time i get home. Its non stop and feel i dont hve enough hours in the day. I would like to know how you schedule your day to fit everything. I wake up at 6am get my 1st grader and my 3yr old son ready for school and day care. My husband takes my son and i take my daughter. I then head to work. I work from 9-5pm head to my daughter’s school and pick her up by 5:20pm. I get home by 6pm and by the time i prep myself i begin to cook by 6:30. I help my daughter with her homework. By 6:45 my husband is home. I finish cooking by 7:30. We eat and rush our kids to shower and clean up the kitchen. By 8:45 the kids are in bed. I still have to get their things ready for the morning. By this time its 9:30pm and im exhausted.
